Take your wheel throwing skills to the next level in this focused, 4-week intensive designed for advanced-beginner potters. This class is all about practice, repetition, and skill-building your work on the wheel—without the pressure of refining a finished product for glazing or firing.

Through guided demonstrations and hands-on exercises, students will refine their technique in centering, pulling even walls, and improving consistency. We’ll work on cylinders, bowls, vases (and on request, other foundational shapes to strengthen your control over clay.) With an emphasis on efficiency and confidence at the wheel, students gain a deeper understanding of clay movement, hand positioning, and problem-solving common throwing challenges.

Since this class is process-driven, students will not be expected to keep or fire their pieces. Instead, the focus is on learning through making, reclaiming, and reworking clay to maximize practice time. Whether you’re looking to break through frustrating plateaus or build a stronger throwing foundation, this course will provide the structure and support to help you progress. Some prior wheel experience is recommended, but no need to be an expert—just come ready to throw, learn, and improve!

Shelf space and 25lbs of clay is provided to each student. Tools and other equipment are avaible at the studio for communal use.
