Surface and Slip Decoration Workshop (February 23rd 9am-12pm)

Get creative with slip! Slip offers so many opportunities to incorporate pattern, motif, texture, and other elements of design to enhance your ceramic forms. In this 3-hour workshop we will review how to create slip and add colors to the material. Resident artist, Laura De Anda-Hall, will guide you through slip trailing, slip inlay, sgraffito and textural application. Students will be provided coaster-sized test tiles for practicing these techniques. Bringing greenware is encouraged if you would like to apply these slip designs on your work with support!   

Test tiles will be bisqued and glazed in a clear or white glaze and ready for pick-up within 3 weeks.

Each participant will get to choose one piece to be finished and glazed at the studio after the workshop is done. Tools, materials, and equipment provided.
