Creativity and discipline need each other! The phrase “building intention” in a ceramics context can refer to your technical approach as well as the conceptual underpinnings of your work. This course is for folks who have taken a beginning wheel class and are seeking a space to deepen their practice.
This goals of this course for beginning wheel graduates are fivefold:
consistently and efficiently throw a 6” cylinder out of 1.5 pounds of clay
Center up to 3 pounds of clay
Develop ability to throw and shape articulate forms
How to make and execute a glazing plan
How to generate personal and community critique in a safe and constructive way.
Students will also have full access to the studio during open hours for the duration of their 8 Week course (6am-12am All Days).
Shelf space and 25lbs of clay is provided to each student. Tools and other equipment are available at the studio for communal use.
